Dear Reader,

This blog is a collaboration of topics in areas of the horror mindset and genre. Quite simply, we study horror. We delve into the age-old elements of horror, the animalistic nature of fear, and the output of social creativity as a result of a combination of the two. We have a lot of fun exploring our passion, and hope you’ll enjoy it all the same!

In the meantime, here are our 6 Articles of Horror we promise to stand by…

[mks_accordion_item title=”1. Entertainment”]
We promise to approach Horror Entertainment in its many forms with an open mind, whether we are reviewing books, movies, or simply discussing the latest direction in Hollywood.

“Where there is no imagination there is no horror.” – Arthur Conan Doyle

[mks_accordion_item title=”2. Book Reviews”]
In our humble opinion, this R. L. Stine quote goes for both reading, writing, and appreciating works in literature. While examining literary works in horror, we’ll keep in mind all genres and writing styles so that we may appreciate each work for what it is.

“Read. Read. Read. Just don’t read one type of book. Read different books by various authors so that you develop different styles.” – R. L. Stine

[mks_accordion_item title=”3. Film Reviews”]
There are many sub-genres within Horror when it comes to film, and while admittedly we would be prone to favoring the paranormal, we are dedicated to keeping you up-to-date with reviews of the biggest and latest horror flicks across the board.

“If something comes along that is totally outside of horror, fine, but I find there’s an immense amount of freedom within the genre.” – Wes Craven

[mks_accordion_item title=”4. Horror Genre Studies”]
We promise to cite our work. But also to contribute to the discussion on the horror entertainment genre in an academic sense, to dissect and divulge the intestines of the genre, to find out what makes it tick… and what makes you scream.

“There are horrors beyond life’s edge that we do not suspect, and once in a while evil prying calls them just within our range.” – H. P. Lovecraft

[mks_accordion_item title=”5. Hauntings”]
We promise to realize the importance of respect for the views and experiences of others. While studying cases of the wicked and paranormal might tickle just the right bone, we take the hauntings of persons, places and things very seriously and discuss them with the highest regards for ALL those involved.

“Demons are like obedient dogs; they come when they are called.” – Rémy de Gourmont

[mks_accordion_item title=”6. Places & Cases”]
We promise to not cover a case for the sole purpose of delivering shock factor (though horror is incredible by its very nature). Instead we will present cases for the sake of exploring a substantial attribute to the paranormal field. The range of topics under ‘Hauntings’ may not be for the faint of heart as we explore the darker side of both human nature and forces unexplained. Please read at your own discretion as some content may include mature themes.

“Horror is the removal of masks.” – Robert Bloch

We understand that there are millions of other blogs you could be carousing right now – but here you are, at Articles of Horror. We don’t take that sort of thing lightly. Please let us know if you have a suggestion or comment, and as always, stop on by again to check out our latest content. We hope to see you again.
